Collaborative Art

LI:  To use different types of warm and cool colours to recreate a world-known painting from Van Gogh.

This week’s art is about Van Gogh and his famous art piece “The Starry Night”. The Class was divided into 2 groups of 16 people, 1 of each group remade “The Starry Night” in warm colours and cool colours digitally.

Each group divided 16 pieces of the Starry Night with each person in the group. Working as a collaborative team we gathered all or pieces to 1 DLO to finally reach our desired outcome.

I found this activity interesting because no body could trace so all of us had to go free hand and the hard part about this was when we coulden’t trace and try and look at the square that we are drawing and try and copy it down.

Worm Tunnel Art

L.I To make use of the whole space

In this activity we learn to make use of the whole space on the paper and to blend and shade using complementary colours. Complementary colours are colours that that are opposite one another on the colour wheel and when used next to each other stand out.

I found this activity very peacful because we learnt how use the whole space of the and to fill in every little spot with detail.

Whale Tail

LI: To create a design for our LS2 whale tail that tells a story

Whale Tail Design

My whale tail design is showing that kiwis mostly come out at night and sleeps at night to stay away from predators and that’s why one side is designed to look like it’s night. On my other side of my whale tail is showing tuis in the day because tuis sleep at night like every other bird and comes out at night.

Harakeke

My harakeke is showing it’s growing and the baskets on top is resembling what a harakeke plant can do like make a basket fishing lines and nets and many more things. You might have objects that make thing easier for you and it might be from a harakeke plant. So that’s why harakeke plants are so important in NZ

Insect Art

LI: To use nature to create a bee

Inspired by art creations by Raku Inoue we went outside and collected leaves, twigs, and other plant debris to create our own bee images.

I found it quite hard to assemble the plantes because there was a brezze of wind so it kept on going everywhere.

I enjoyed this because I could try somthing new and a bit creative.

Kandinsky Art

LI:to use colours that relate to your emotions from the music

For the past couple of weeks LS2 has been investigating mood and atmosphere. We started by reading a variety of ANZAC poems, and highlighting how each sentence made us feel. Afterwards we answered different questions about how we felt during the poems.

Our next step was to listen to a montage of music, and use colors to represent how we felt listening to each song. The circles had to be concentric, meaning they started in the middle of our page, and progressed outwards. This art was based of a russian artist by the name of Wassily Kandinsky. He would normally listen to opera music and paint how he feels.

Agent of Change

LI: To set learning and personal goals

An Agent of Change is someone who makes switches to their learning opportunities. Each year we set goals for ourselves to help us strengthen our connections to our learning and challenge themselves. LS2 uses the phrase ‘Agents of Change’ as this is how we see ourselves. My DLO shows the goals I have set myself this year so that I can become an Agent of Change.
